Good morning / Good afternoon

Honorable judges, teachers and fellow students:

Today, I’m very honored to stand here to give a speech. The topic of my speech is “Youth Building a Dream”.

When we are young, we are full of dreams. We want to be singers, dancers, doctors, scientists or astronauts. As time passes by, we feel more and more pressure from our families and the society —perfect grades, good exam results and so on. In the end, many of us are too tired and scared to carry on our dreams and find a safe life with a steady job.

But I believe it is important to have dreams. Or the world will have one less kind and passionate person. During our university life, we have time and possibility to achieve our dreams. There are no boundaries for us to go for what we love. It doesn’t matter whether you get a good exam result or not. As long as you love and study something, you can start and make something big.

In this information explosion era, it is easy to pick up one interesting thing and be excellent in it. Especially with internet, you can get knowledge and information, join communities and teams, and work with anyone around the world. In this way, you can own your dream and work on it any time and from any place.

So follow your heart and use the time as a youth to release dreams. Anything is possible if you never give up trying.
